Our Popular Pitch Perfecting Sessions in a More Affordable and Accessible Small Group Format
On Monday, we announced our latest product offering: Small Group Pitch Perfecting Workshops (click the link to read more about them). We’ve received a HUGE response, so thank you for that!
We have just a few slots left available for the upcoming session on February 21, so please reach out ASAP if you’d like to attend: info@toptierconsulting.net.
This will give publicists more of an opportunity to check out our most popular session, Pitch Perfecting, and is a more affordable offering, especially for sololancers and smaller agencies. Plus, the group format gives you the chance to hear our feedback on other publicist pitches and you’ll definitely learn something from that portion as well!
Now onto this week’s topic
It’s been a heck of a few months in the media world. First, we’ve been bombarded with constant news of mass media layoffs at Dotdash Meredith, BHG, Buzzfeed, TMB, Outside and other major publishing houses.
And second, AI content — including chatGPT, Microsoft’s Bing and Google’s BARD — came in hot and is here to stay. Buzzfeed, TMB and CNET are already using AI to create content (or have announced plans to do so).
What does this mean for media and PR folks? In short, fewer on-staff editorial roles and more AI-generated content being published. Does that sound like a scary combination? It is.
As such, your ability to foster and maintain relationships with freelancers is more crucial than ever before. We do a deep dive on this topic in our Become a Journalist’s BFF: Networking and Relationship Management session, but wanted to share some actionable takeaways today in light of all the movement in the industry lately.
So today we’ll be looking at the reasons WHY you’re going to need to lean on freelancers and HOW to effectively do so.
Here comes the paywall, as our weekly newsletters are a perk for paid subscribers. But we’d love to have you. Check out our monthly and annual plan options (annual is 20% off right now!) to dive into this full newsletter plus access our entire archive of past newsletters and our monthly Top Tier Talks.
