Missed Our March Top Tier Talk? Here's the Recording!
Plus: Mark your calendars now for the April Top Tier Talk on the 28th
Happy Thursday, TTC subscribers.
Our first small-group How to Become a Journalist’s BFF: Networking and Relationship Management workshop yesterday was a big hit, so look for a second session sometime this summer (probably June)! We’ll also be hosting another small group pitch-perfecting session in May, so stay tuned for details on that.
Tuesday’s monthly Top Tier Talk was also a great session and we had just enough time to answer everyone’s questions.
As a reminder: We’re doing these chats monthly and they are offered to all paid members — it’s a great way to connect with us and hear from other publicists who are facing the same obstacles you are!
Save the date for April’s Top Tier Talk: Friday, April 28th at 1 pm PST/4pm EST.
Here are just a few of the questions we answered:
How do you decide what to cover?
What’s the appropriate way to thank a journalist for coverage?
When it comes to expert commentary, is it better to pitch the person first or provide the insight upfront?
How many emails and how far in advance should you pitch virtual events?
Would you rather hear from a publicist too much or not enough?
Are you pitching stories less due to staff reductions at outlets?
How do we let media know that a client is now affiliate-ready?
How far in advance should we reach out to media about retreats and getaways?
If you don’t specifically ask for images, should we still include them?
Are subscription boxes still a thing?
For those of you who couldn’t make it, you were definitely missed! But no worries. As promised, we’re sending out the link to the video so you can watch at your convenience.
If you see the paywall below, you can upgrade your subscription to view the recording … plus you’ll get access to all our weekly paid content where we do deep dives on industry topics and you’ll be invited to attend all of our future monthly Top Tier Talks, too.
